Yale Playwrights Festival, 2024

YPF 2024 received 43 submissions from students throughout Yale College. The festival took place on Friday, February 23, and Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Morse College Crescent Theater, featuring the following plays:

The Teams

The directors and actors participating in the readings were a combination of Yale College and David Geffen School of Drama students. The directors included Jisun Kim (DGSD MFA ‘22, current DFA candidate), Joe Lee (YC ‘25), Abby Asmuth (YC ‘26), Elka Wade (YC ‘24), KaLa Keaton (YC ‘25), and Lavanya Sinha (YC ‘25). They were joined by 30 student actors, some of whom were playwrights reading for each other’s plays.

*This year’s YPF was overseen and supported by Assistant Professor of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies Elise Morrison, MFA in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale School of Drama Hannah Gellman, and TDPS Senior Admin & Registrar Alana Conti.
