Past Event: Yale Playwrights Festival

This event has passed.

The Yale Playwrights Festival (YPF) was founded in 2003 by Professor Toni Dorfman and Alum Laura Jacqmin. For over two decades, it has been a source of inspiration for writers, actors, directors, mentors, and peers. Every fall, students submit unpublished, previously unproduced one-act or full-length dramatic works in progress. Faculty readers select four to six scripts for the spring festival. The author of each script is assigned two mentors—one from the Yale faculty and one professional writer—who work with the student playwright. The festival culminates in a staged reading of the play before an audience. This year's festival is February 22 and 23 at the Saybrook Underbrook.
