Daniel Egan is Coordinator of the Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater and a Senior Lecturer in Music; and Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies at Yale, where he teaches courses on musical theater history and the work of Stephen Sondheim. He has also worked with the Metropolitan Opera HD Live in the Schools program, the National Alliance of Musical Theater, and has served on the boards of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat and the Brearley School in NYC. In addition, Dan lectures on theater, music, and other arts topics as Academic Coordinator for Road Scholar in New York City. In this capacity he has designed programs on the arts, including week-long seminars in conjunction with the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center (opera, ballet, symphonic, and theater performances) and eleven summers of Glimmerglass Festival performances. As a performer, Daniel Egan sang at New York City Opera for a decade, as well as performing in hundreds of concert, opera, and theater venues throughout the tri-state area.
