A little girl is faced with fear and sorrow as her beloved Grandpa dies. In Aurand Harris’s The Arkansaw Bear, the girl is helped by a mime, a talking star, and the World’s Greatest Dancing Bear to solve the ‘riddle of life’ – though we must die, we live on in those with whom we’ve shared our most beautiful dances. Recommended for students in grades 3 and 4.
